2018 made me more patient, determinated and confident. It taught me to see the best in myself and others. It was a transformative year. But in all honestly, I haven’t planned a special outfit to say goodbye to it. It’s just that being away from home during the Holidays makes them emotionally complicated. So, you won’t see me wearing the typical sparkly dress that hides in the closet forever after that one time, and nothing red carpet like whatsoever. But I do keep the venezuelan tradition of looking put together for the New Year, which according to my mother “we should keep as long as we are alive”. Although I must say the tradition actually consists in wearing brand new clothes.
A maxi skirt and an interesting top is the way to go for me: you don’t have to think too much about it and can wear it again on another occasions. For those of you at the Caribbean or enjoying summer wherever you are, just add a pair of strappy pearly/embellished heels and call it a day. Now if like me, you’re just trying to make it through winter, then boots are non negotiable. The metallic touches make it festive enough, right?
These last days I’ve been working on my 2019 Resolutions, meaning: doing the things that will take me to accomplish them. How about you? Make the most of this time: hug and be hugged! See you next year!
With love,
Griselys
