#MOTD Recap

In these series I’ll talk about my makeup likes/dislikes, faves and tips through my #MOTD posts on instagram and the products I use on an everyday bases. Let’s get started!

I had a party that day, but I like to keep it simply with my makeup no matter the ocasion. This time I went for a mix of Nude Dude’s Faithful and Fit on the lid (Check them out here). I applied the blush from the Autobalm California Face Palette which I’ve been using way more than I expected (review here) and Luminoso on top. For my lips I sticked to my signature berry shade and lightened it with pink.

I need to put on more foundation that I would like to cover the sequels of my acne, so I can’t afford to spend on a high end one to only last a few months. Unfortunately, there aren’t many drugstore options here in Brazil and I’m stuck with Maybelline’s Super Stay 24 at the moment. After buying two pink toned bottles I finally found my shade on Beige Medium. Although the coverage is fine it does give me a slightly powdery effect.

The Bourjois Bronzing Powder in 51 isn’t very pigmented or dark and that’s why it’s perfect for a soft everyday contour and my new staple. The Healthy Mix Concealer doesn’t feel light under the eyes but once it settles it’s completely fine and only needs a dab of powder to be fixed, you do need to work it pretty quickly because it dries really fast. The Healthy Balance Powder is quite imperceptible which is good news for my dry skin. Before I totally skipped powder, but after a few minor makeup accidents I learned that sealing any liquid product I put on my face is key!

The lack of options situation has had me stucked with The Colossal, and even though it’s a good one I’m frankly bored. This is my first tube of The Falsies and I’m already a fan, I love the shape of the wand to get into the roots of my lashes because I’m too lazy to tightline. As for the Beauty Full Volume, I feel like it gives me more lenght that volume, but nothing too crazy.

Mary Lou-Manizer is a little bit light for my skin tone and less exciting than I tought it will be. Same with Milani’s Luminoso, that happens to be less pigmented than I expected. Nonetheless I still like them and use them a lot.

If you’re afraid of color, lilac is a good place to start: it looks fun yet sophisticated. Cabana Boy turned out (again) less pigmented than I expected. But don’t get me wrong, it does have good color pay off, I just like my blush to really appear. I’m trying to low it down at the moment but I can’t promise anything!

I’ll do orange lips to give it a twist to a simple neutral look and red when I’m feeling bold. Berry is my go-to. Most of the time I can’t commit to just one lipstick and end up mixing them.

The nude lipstick toned down this look making it pretty neutral. Bahama Mama it’s super pigmented, easy to work with and great as a transition shade. It’s more for contouring than bronzing as it gives me a more strong look.

When it comes to pastels I like to go for a washed out effect. To keep it classy I stick to just one color. Patience is key with Nyx’s Autumn Sky, a beautiful blue that needs to be applied by layers and preferebly after a white base.

This brush shape is my favorite for applying blush. I was planning to do a pink eyeshadow look with the Autobalm Hawaii Palette (review here) but only had time to put on Maybelline’s Color Tatoo in Inked Pink. I must have gotten an old one because opposedly to everything I’ve heard about it it’s crumbly and difficult to apply.
